Various projects, mostly print collateral.
To emphasize East West Bank's global reach, this ad features a composite image with skylines of downtown Los Angeles and Shanghai. I did extensive Photoshop work to create the seamlessly blended cityscape composite.
This tri-fold brochure in Spanish targets newly arrived Spanish-speaking immigrants and gives them general information on bank products that may be useful as they adjust to their new home.
I created a set of flyers marketing the bank's mortgage offerings to potential customers, focusing on the Latino and African American demographics. Spanish versions of the flyers were also produced. The flyers have editable contact fields so mortgage loan officers can input their own contact information.
I worked with a freelance designer/illustrator to create the concept for the Lunar New Year artwork, which was then used for in-branch posters, ads, website and a digital greeting card.
High profile customers were invited to a pilot benefits program called "eliteBridge" that offered a variety of perks. Customers who qualified received a "You're invited" envelope containing a welcome booklet printed on thick, eye-catching paper stock along with a letter. Branches also received a large poster to display (not pictured).
The bank invites VIP customers to several exclusive events throughout the year, including box seats to athletic events. This evite for a Dodgers game was distributed to relationship managers to send to their prestigious clients.
I created static and animated web banners in various sizes that were displayed on NBC4's website during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. They linked to a story on the bank's blog about a client of the bank, a local gymnastics training facility and gym.
This informational booklet is part of a “welcome kit” included in every package mailed to new Payment Systems customers. It is an easy to read document that explains to new customers how to activate their equipment and whom they can contact for questions or assistance. Stock photography of independent business owners, such as florists and coffee shop owners, is used throughout the booklet. This project was a collaborative effort with another designer and a copywriter.
The sales departments at Payment Systems require informational recruiting material to hand out at career fairs to prospective employees. A one page flyer and a tri-fold brochure each have the same information, just arranged differently. They are a quick way to get a potential recruit’s attention, as the job description and benefits are clearly outlined.
Training materials for the sales departments had long been disorganized, with disparate Word files from different authors floating around. Employees emailed whatever random training documents they had on their local drive or wrote their own without oversight, which led to inefficiency and confusion. All sales training materials were located, documented, re-written, and re-designed as part of a massive collection of training guides and updated regularly in a single accessible digital database. Printed copies were also produced on demand.
This is a flyer for salespeople to give to prospective customers, with information about applying for a merchant cash advance.
Below are logos I have created for various projects.
Many grooming supply businesses have popped up to provide products and services for people with beards as facial hair has become more popular. GBBC wanted a rebellious biker look (but still well-groomed!), so the logo consists of a hand-drawn mascot based on the company’s founder, with the company name embedded in his beard.
CarePoint Managed Services offers a range of protective services to merchants such as reputation and social media management, as well as chargeback protection. The image of the umbrella over the right half of the company name connotes the “protective” services.
Financial Systems is a large parent company with multiple subsidiaries, all of which offer services in the financial sector. The scattering of colored squares in a grid layout subtly emphasizes the different companies.
Payment Systems provides merchant processing services to small and mid-sized businesses. This logo is a re-brand of their previous logo (seen at bottom). The three diamonds represent the three different sales departments that all contribute to the company’s success.
Global Travel Partners is a boutique travel agency with years of experience booking corporate and vacation travel. It needed to look professional but also still accessible to non-corporate customers.
The Herd Project is an online video support group for survivors of sexual violence. The videos are in a similar vein to the "It Gets Better" videos. The group's name is enclosed in brackets to emphasize the strength derived from the community's support.
Graphics for social media website pages such as Facebook and Twitter.
Payment Systems’ social media presence had previously been inconsistent, so with the assistance of another designer and a copywriter, the Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook pages were re-done with a consistent look and voice. New cover photos, page banners and icons were created to tie the different social media networks together. Multiple social media accounts were created for different groups: employees, customers, and corporate-based general information.
Global Travel Partners sends out a weekly newsletter which details new deals and specials to their subscribers. Templates created included a general information email for new subscribers and seasonal or theme-specific newsletters (such as winter/holiday travel, European vacations, etc.). I created a variety of email banners and special graphics for the newsletters.
Presentation decks/modules and custom informational graphics.
This deck was designed for the COO to use in investment pitches. The template I designed uses photography of downtown Los Angeles for a corporate look. For privacy reasons, some of the text has been obscured.
CarePoint wanted a more polished presentation deck to show to potential clients for its business platform. I took the previous presentation which had been made with a default template in PowerPoint and designed a deck with a clearer hierarchy of information and consistent layout.
New salespeople at Payment Systems have a lot of information to go through as part of their training. With the Recruiting/Training department, I designed a series of training modules that contained the training material in a clear, succinct, and easy-to-follow manner. Most of the graphics used were custom illustrations. The slides were uploaded to the training platform MindFlash and accompanied by an audio recording of a corporate trainer.
Charts used in an investor proposal presentation. I used a combination of Illustrator and InDesign.
Re-created an image based on a concept from a business management book. This was blown up to poster size for use during a presentation. Created in Illustrator.
This was re-created in Illustrator from a business management book and re-sized for printing at poster size.
A gallery of miscellaneous design work, including illustrations, greeting cards, posters, etc.
I love ice cream and Christmas, so a Christmas tree soft serve cone seemed perfect. Vector illustration drawn with Wacom tablet in Illustrator.
I love sweets and pastries, so drew a vector illustration of a wreath made up of holiday goodies. Vector illustration drawn with Wacom tablet/mouse in Illustrator.
Peppermint candy canes make a heart to mark the holiday season
This is an original holiday card design sent out to past clients, family, and friends. It features a stylized penguin bearing a present.
The theme of the engagement party was "old-fashioned ice cream parlor" so I incorporated pastel colors, scalloped edges and cute hand-drawn graphics. This was made in Illustrator.
One of my best friends and I do an ongoing monthly art swap where we pick a theme and do a small artwork based on that theme. This theme was “mermaid,” and I draw a colorful, rainbow-haired mermaid in a donut floatie. Used Prismacolor colored pencils on cardstock.
This theme was “duplicate a screenshot.” Inspired by cut paper artists on Instagram, I took a still from Sailor Neptune’s transformation sequence and recreated it using cut pieces of origami paper. This was way harder than I anticipated, since cutting paper requires extreme precision. Used origami paper, colored pencils and foil paper.
This is an investor prospectus and lookbook for FIRST GIRL I LOVED, an independent LGBT dramedy. The director shot the photographs at a local high school and I designed the lookbook with an emphasis on the unique characters and setting of the movie.
Logline: Anne, a teenager in the Canoga Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, has decided it’s not worth coming out as a lesbian - until she falls in love with Sasha, an athlete even more in the closet than she is.
This theatrical poster was designed for TRIGGER FINGER, a low-budget independent film. The poster highlights the duplicitous personality of the lead character.
Logline: A police officer haunted by the criminal that got away and a troubled teenage girl team up to cover up her dark secret.
This poster was designed for the film THE YOUNG KIESLOWSKI for use during the festival circuit. It features the main character’s (Brian Kieslowski) reaction upon hearing his friend (Leslie Mallard) is pregnant after their hook-up.
Logline: Two brainy and awkward virgins hook up (drunkenly), fall in love (maybe), and get pregnant (twins).
Pictured is a wedding invitation set designed for a friend. Their wedding colors were peach and cream; the invitations were printed on cream card stock in peach-pink ink. The bride wanted a classic, more formal look, hence the serif and calligraphic typefaces.
Ross and I collect vintage cameras so I designed our wedding stationery around a Polaroid theme.
The save the date is 5"x7" and features an undeveloped Polaroid picture.
With the Polaroid themed save the date, naturally the actual wedding invitation was designed to resemble an actual Polaroid photo. The RSVP card also is formatted to look like a Polaroid.
